World Mental Health Day
Written by Scotland Commissioner (Inclusion) Alan Freeburn.
Every year World Mental Health Day is celebrated on 10th October. It's not just about raising awareness, it's also about driving positive change for everyone's mental health.
As an inclusive, youth lead movement we want everyone in Scouts to be involved in what we do while living our values - Integrity, Respect, Care, Belief and Co-operation.
The theme this year is 'Mental Health is a universal human right'.
By talking about mental health, by introducing it in our programmes, by making it an open, normal part of everyday life we can raise awareness and make those positive changes not just for World Mental Health Day but for every day. We can do all that while living our values, looking after ourselves, and each other.
Here are some ideas for mindful activities to introduce to your programme.
