Volunteer vacancy | Growth Commissioner

Volunteer vacancy | Growth Commissioner

08 April 2019

We are looking to appoint a Scouts Scotland Commissioner for Growth. This is an exciting opportunity to drive forward the strategy and vision to help us achieve our ambitious targets to grow and develop Scouting, especially within under-represented communities.

Barry Donald-Hewitt, Deputy Chief Commissioner (Programme) explains more about what we are looking for:

“We have thousands of young people on waiting lists or not even aware of the adventure Scouting could offer them and potential volunteers we never reach or parents we fail to engage.

"It is through the recruitment of new volunteers, opening of new groups and sections and the retention of our member and volunteers that we can ensure that more children and young people experience the joy of Scouting.

“I am looking for someone with enthusiasm, vision, and dedication to work with a volunteer and staff team to support the growth of Scouting across Scotland, to ensure more children, young people and adult volunteers can join the adventure and helps us retain the members we already have.”
