Volunteer team changes

11 February 2019

We are delighted to appoint Gillian Caldwell as Depute Chief Commissioner for People. In this role, Gillian will be responsible for skills and training, and outdoor, international and adventure.

Gillian has been involved in Scouting since her teenage years, and has held a number of roles in adult training, and has worked extensively with the Cub and Explorer Scout Sections. She has been involved in numerous international experiences with young people and is a Group Scout Leader with Clyde Region.

She says:

“I am very excited to be leading the ‘People’ team, helping support all our adult volunteers across Scotland, and ensuring we provide them with the skills and resources required to deliver amazing Scouting experiences to young people. Going forward, I am particularly looking forward to the challenge of helping make our vision for 2023 become a reality.”

Additional team changes

There have also been a few other changes to Scouts Scotland’s Depute Chief Commissioner Team to align with the Skills for Life Plan.

Stuart Imrie will now take responsibility for perception and become the lead for both community impact and youth involvement. Barry Donald-Hewitt continues to develop the programme remit and will take responsibility for both inclusion and growth.
