Support for Visits Abroad

06 March 2018

Are you planning an exciting overseas adventure this summer? Graham Carrington, from our International Support Team, offers some guidance on the processes and planning of a trip overseas with young people.

A Visit Abroad is an incredible opportunity and for many people, it can be the highlight of their Scouting life.

Due to the added complexity and distance involved in a visit abroad, it’s especially important that Scout Leaders make sure their trip is compliant with UK Scout Association Rules, which includes making sure the correct paperwork is completed.

A Visits Abroad (VA) form must be completed for every trip outside of the UK by those representing the Scout Association. This includes adult-only trips, recce trips, solo trips and trips with young people.
