Summer camp opportunities at Lochgoilhead

06 March 2017

Are you looking for a venue for next year's summer camp? Our Head of Centres, Graeme Young, tells us what Scouts Scotland's Lochgoilhead National Activity Centres can offer during the summer season.

Permit training while you camp

Did you know that while your young people are earning badges, you and your Leaders could be training for permits. Our professional team can design and fully deliver activity programmes for your young people, while training you and your leaders towards the permits you really need.

Our Lochgoilhead centre can deliver a wide range of permit training and assessment. This includes, raft building, paddling, climbing, hill walking, power boating and sailing. The team is also able to deliver development sessions towards various NGB qualifications.

Minimum numbers of participants are required (minimum of three or maximum of six), with some specific training requiring additional cost – our team are more than happy to talk through the various options available. It’s worth noting, however, that availability will be linked to operational capacity at the centre.

More time on what matters

A stay at Lochgoilhead is fully catered (three hot meals a day), sleeping in dorm and lodge accommodation, with a full-day activity programme delivered by professional activity instructors. Our aim is to reduce the time you spend planning your camp, allowing you more time with your young people or catching up on training.

We also want your young people to have the time to develop and progress their skills. Delivering activities through our own professional instructors enables your young people to benefit from more than just a taster session.
