Section Round-up: Scouts

Section Round-up: Scouts

10 June 2024

We caught up with Jackie, Lead for Scouts, who told us how much Scouts have been up to recently. Take a look at just some of what Scouts have been up to across Scotland.

Adventure Camp

The annual event took place this May in Kilmarnock with Scouts attending from all over the country. 667 Scouts, representing all eight Scottish Regions, took part in this year's Adventure Camp at Craufurdland Castle Country Estate. There were lots of adventurous activities on offer including: wheels, targets, bushcraft, inflatables and so much more. They even had an early morning serenade on the bagpipes!

88th Stirling Scouts (Braehead) celebrating 50 years!

To commemorate their 50th anniversary, the 88th Stirling Scouts Group are hosting three special events throughout the year: one for their volunteers and young people, one for families and friends, and a community event.

Recently, they held a memorable group camp at Lochearnhead Scout Station. Over three days, all Sections came together to celebrate their rich history. Special guests included current and former District Commissioners, former Group Scout Leaders (GSLs), and Leaders. The camp featured a birthday party and campfire celebrations, creating unforgettable experiences where young people learned new skills, made new friends, and built their confidence. Awards presented included the Chief Scout Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Awards, Long Service Awards, and the Chief Scout Commendation for Good Service.

Lossiemouth Scout cycled for 100km

Jamie Read, a Scout from 1st Lossiemouth biked for 100km from the Cairngorms to the coast as part of his Personal Challenge Award. Jamie started his cycle from Glenmore Nature Reserve and travelled north to Lossiemouth. Now that's a challenge that a half, we'd be just as exhausted if we tried to take on that challenge!

If your Scouts have been up to some amazing stuff recently we'd love to hear about it. Contact us on our Facebook page or email us at
