New Trustee appointed
We are delighted to let you know that Vonnie Sandlan has joined our Board of Trustees. Vonnie will be filling the casual vacancy on the Board.
Vonnie lives in Glasgow and is well known within the public policy sector in Scotland, particularly through her work on further and higher education issues. She has worked as a senior policy officer for Universities Scotland and Colleges Scotland, and as an assistant director of the Scottish Funding Council.
Vonnie is an advocate for young people and education. She has a strong understanding of governance issues and the third sector, together with youth involvement from her time as President of the National Union of Students in Scotland, and before that as Womens' Officer.
In Scouting, Vonnie has been a Beaver Scout Leader and Group Chair, and is currently a Cub Scout Leader with 62nd Clyde (Darnley). Vonnie is also an experienced trustee having served on boards including Langside College, Who Cares? Scotland and Causeway Education.
“I’m really excited to be joining the Scouts Scotland Board of Trustees at this important time for the Movement as the new strategic plan is being implemented.
"As both a Scout leader and a Scout parent, I’ve long been convinced of how beneficial the transformative opportunities offered through Scouts are for our young people, for our volunteers and for our wider communities.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Board of Trustees and I look forward to contributing positively.”
