New Regional Commissioner for South East

01 September 2017

We are delighted to announce that Margery Naylor has been appointed to be the next Regional Commissioner for South East Scotland.

Margery has been a Brownie in Hong Kong, a Guide, earning the Queen’s Guide Award, and a Guide leader.

She has been a Cub Scout Leader from 2000 and as the South East Regional Safeguarding Awareness Coordinator since 2012, has been responsible for organising and running about 10 courses every year. She got to know leaders in all the Districts, which was very helpful to her in her role as Assistant Regional Commissioner, Adult Training.

Margery has had extensive front line and senior management experience in social work services, and was a Senior Inspector for the Social Work Inspection Agency.

She has held many voluntary sector positions, such as the Chair of Voluntary Health Scotland. She is also involved in community life in a number of ways, including being the President of the Cramond Association and an adviser and Board member of the Citizen’s Advice Bureaux, Edinburgh.

“I hope you will all join with me in wishing Margery well in her new role and supporting her as she starts to rebuild the Region Team and map out the way forward for SE Region. I would also like to take this opportunity to publically thank Graham Coulson and Diane Marshall who have done an excellent job in steering the Region forwards in the past 9 months,” said Chief Commissioner, Graham Haddock.
