New Network Commissioner

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Angus Gillies as SHQ Commissioner for the Scout Network.

Angus has been involved in Scouting since the age of six when he joined Beavers in Bishopton. He worked his way through all of the Sections, including the Network, and was a key member and ultimately Chair, of the Scottish Scout Network Council. He has also served as a member of the Scottish Board, the Programme Team and the National Activity Centres Committee.

While in Network, he enjoyed a number of international Scouting experiences, including being a member of the International Service Team (IST) for the 22nd World Jamboree in Sweden, having a few different roles at the Blair Atholl Jamborette team in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016 and completing his Explorer Belt in America in 2013. He has also been an active member of the Scottish Scout Active Support for the last five years and is regularly involved in the Equipment Hire Service and assisting at national events.

Angus has an HND in Electrical Engineering and works for Chevron as an offshore electrical technician on the Captain WPP in the North Sea.
