Join the Scottish team for the European Jamboree 2020

12 November 2018

The European Jamboree is back for 2020 and we’re looking to recruit Unit Leaders and Assistant Unit Leaders to be part of the Scottish Contingent attending this amazing experience.

European Jamboree 2020 will take place in Gdansk, Poland from 27 July to 6 August 2020. This jamboree will bring together Scouts and Guides from all over Europe to celebrate Scouting and Guiding values, making new friends, and strengthening our international community. Participants will be aged between 14 and 18.

This event is also a great opportunity to see Gdansk, a charming coastal city with lots to do and see.

Join the team

Volunteering for this event is a great way to develop experience, see a bit of Poland and contribute your enthusiasm and skills to our team.

If you’d like to support the Scottish Units at this event, check out the role descriptions. Even if you don’t meet all the criteria, we’d still encourage you to apply, as this could be a great development opportunity for an adult volunteer.

The cost for this event will be no more than £1,150.

How to apply

If you’re interested, the first step is to fill out the application form and send it to us by 14 January at noon.

The information you provide within your application form will form the basis on how we select applicants to the selection event, so please take every opportunity to sell yourself.

If your application is successful, the next stage will be a short and friendly interview to help us find out more about you and why you want to go to Poland as part of a team. Consider some of your experiences in and out of Scouting, and think about what you would bring to a leadership team.

The second half of the selection event will be an activity, so we can learn more about your team working and leadership skills and how you work with young people of an Explorer Scout age.

Please make sure you’re available for all key dates in the selection process.
