Helping Refugees- Sessions with Save the Children
Save the Children UK is one of 6 partners of our community impact programme, A Million Hands. Since 2019, Scouts have been working with Save the Children on the theme of ‘supporting refugees and displaced children’ - you can find a wide range of activities on this theme here, suitable for all age groups.
We know that Scout groups have been really concerned about what’s going on in Afghanistan, and how people in Scotland can support refugees arriving from that country. So, we’re working with Save the Children to set up some sessions this term for Scouts groups in Scotland.
This is a great opportunity for groups to hear from experts about what it’s like to work in a country when there’s a conflict or crisis, and how Scouts can support refugees in their communities. It’s also a great opportunity for older Scouts to hear what it’s like to work for a charity.
As part of the session the team from Save the Children will run activities that link to the Community Impact Staged Badge. This will help your group understand the issue and think about how they can take action.
If you would be interested in setting up a session with a speaker from Save the Children, please email email@example.com
