Help out at Glasgow Disabled Scouts' summer camp

29 May 2017

Would you like to spend some of your summer helping out at camp? Glasgow Disabled Scouts are looking for Network Members to help support their camp at Barrwood Campsite near Stirling, from 1-8 July.

More than 50 Scouts with disabilities from the Scout, Explorer and Network Sections will attend the camp and each will need support to take part in the week’s programme. The camp is under canvas and offers a full programme of activities.

We are looking for Scout Network members from anywhere in Scotland who would like to join us for the week and be part of our team. We are ideally looking for people who can join us for the full week because it is important the care and support we provide is consistent.

You don’t need any prior experience working with people with disabilities – just a friendly and enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to try new things. We’ll provide some training beforehand and there is a team of experienced leaders in camp who will always be on hand. There is no cost for the week.

If you’d like to find out more or ask any questions please get in touch with the camp leader, Michael Shanks.
