Help celebrate 100 years of Leonard Cheshire Disability

Would you like to raise awareness of disability with your Section for a community impact project? Our A Million Hands partner Leonard Cheshire Disability turns 100 this year and you could hold a party or quiz night to help celebrate.

Your event could help you achieve your Community Impact Staged Activity Badge by including a range of inclusive games or disability-related quiz content, suggested by Leonard Cheshire Disability.

Activity suggestions

You could try:

Doing the “A 100 for 100” challenge

Singing Happy Birthday in Makaton

Saying the Scouts promise in Makaton

Adapting one of your favourite activities so that it is more inclusive for disabled young people

Centenary Packs

Leonard Cheshire Disability has created Centenary Packs to help you run your party or quiz night. Beaver or Cub Leaders might find the Party Pack useful. This contains information about planning your party, a short story about Leonard Cheshire Disability, games suggestions, a pack of balloons and a pack of Supporting Leonard Cheshire wrist bands.

Scout or Explorer Leaders might prefer to use Leonard Cheshire Disability's Centenary Quiz Packs. Instead of games suggestions, it provides information about planning and running a quiz and some question and answer sheets.
