Development Grants Committee Vacancies
Did you know that our Development Grants Committee awards thousands of pounds in grants to Scouts across Scotland each year? Want to help us to make sure that our funding makes a big difference?
We’re looking for several new members to join our Development Grants Committee. We'd especially love to hear from people from outside the central belt to help us be more representative of the whole of Scotland.
What it's all about
Our Development Grants Committee is responsible for overseeing the award of Scouts Scotland’s grant funds to Scout Groups, Districts, Regions, and national projects throughout Scotland. This includes funding for additional needs, activity permits and training, start up grants and grants to help growth, inclusion, community impact and youth involvement.
As a Member of this committee, you’d champion our values, making sure that grants are given and used appropriately in line with our values and our strategy. This includes contacting grant applicants to understand their application and represent their request to the committee, actively discussing applications and making decisions on requests for funding, and supporting successful applicants to evaluate their use of funds.
The committee meets approximately four times per year so the time commitment for adult volunteers is relatively small. You can take on this role if you’re already a volunteer, or if you’re new to Scouts.
