Assistant Unit Leaders for the European Jamboree in 2021

14 May 2020

Want to be an Assistant Unit Leader for the European Jamboree in 2021?

A great opportunity has come up to be part of the Scottish Contingent heading to Poland in 2021. Due to changes from the original dates we are now looking for Assistant Unit Leaders.

The European Jamboree will take place in Gdansk from the 2 - 13 August 2021. Departure dates for the contingent have yet to be agreed.

The Jamboree will still be called European Jamboree 2020 and its motto ACT remains the same. This is to help with continuity and sustainability.

The jamboree will bring together Scouts and Guides form all over Europe to celebrate Scouting and Guiding values, make new friends and strengthen the International Community through the theme of the camp. There is also the opportunity to see Gdansk, a historical city in Polish history and a charming coastal area with many places to visit.

Join The Team

Volunteering for this event is a great way to develop experience, see a bit of Poland and contribute your enthusiasm and skills to our team. If you'll be over 18 at the time of the jamboree and would like to support the Scottish patrols at this event please read the role description.

The cost of the event will be in the region of £1150

How to apply

If you're interested please fill out the application form and return to terry.oneill@scouts.scot before the closing date of the 30th June 2020.

The information you supply will be crucial for us as we'll use it to select who to take forward to the interview day. If you're asked to attend the interview day, this will be a short and friendly chat over what you can bring to the team, why you wish to be part of the Jamboree experience and how you can support our young people.

The second half of the selection event will be an activity so we can learn more about your team working and leadership skills and how you work with young people of an Explorer age group. Dates for this day are yet to be confirmed.
