About the event
The Scottish National Scout Regatta is an annual event for Scouts, Explorers, Network and Leaders. It is open to any Scottish Scouting member who is over 10. You don’t have to be a Sea Scout or have been to a regatta before. It is about taking part, having fun, socialising, making new friends and getting wet.
There are opportunities to take part in different water events as well as a range of land activities. You don’t have to enter every event but you should have previous experience for the events you’re entering. The ethos of the regatta is all about giving it a go and having fun.
There are three different water sports events, sailing, paddling and powerboating. Each event will be split into three different age groups, Scouts, Explorers and Network/Leaders.
Sailing – single-handed and crewed
Paddling – kayaks and open canoes
Powerboating – challenge course
When not competing on the water there are lots of other activities on offer, such as high ropes, bushcraft, archery and more. There will also be evening entertainment on Saturday night, as well as an evening reception for the leaders.
