About the event
What is it?
There are 4 Kiltwalk dates in 2023:
Glasgow 30 April
Aberdeen 4 June
Dundee 20 August
Edinburgh 17 September
And with the Wee wander (3-6 miles), Big Stroll (11-15 miles) and The Mighty Stride (22-26 miles ) all making a comeback this year, there is something for everyone!
The Kiltwalk have updated their fundraising model for 2023: Previously, Kiltwalk retained Gift Aid (same as Children In Need and Comic Relief) to help pay for Kiltwalk events. Now, instead of a top up, The Hunter Foundation will underwrite Kiltwalk’s costs, allowing Gift Aid to be released to Charities ensuring up to 125%* of what you raise will go to your chosen Charity.
Registration is open now!
Cost?
If you commit to raise £100 per participant for Scouts Scotland, we'll pay 100% of your entry fee.
How do I book?
If you would like to sign up to support Scouts Scotland, please email elspeth.white@scouts.scot to receive your promotional code for your free place.
You can also use the Kiltwalk to raise money for local Groups, projects, capital items, or international trips like the World Scout Jamboree. You can only raise funds through the Kiltwalk for a registered charity or local community cause and have a designated charity/organisation bank account with 2 signatories, so you will need to speak to your Group, District or Region to do this. The Group, District or Region would need to register with the Kiltwalk and be added to their website. You can find out everything you need to know about that here: https://www.thekiltwalk.co.uk/charity/get-involved
If you’re fundraising for something like the World Scout Jamboree, your Group, District or Region would need to collect the funds directly and then transfer to the Region towards the payment of your Jamboree fee.
On your fundraising page, you should make it very clear what you are raising funds for, so people understand exactly what their donations will go towards. If you exceed your target, be clear with your Group / District or Region where the additional funds will be allocated.
