RYA Dinghy Instructor Course

About the event

Join us for this exciting Dinghy course held at Scout Adventures Lochgoilhead. This specific course and package is only open to Scout Volunteer Leaders from Scouts Scotland who have all compulsory training up to date (checks will be made on Compass).

 The dates for the course are as follows:

Saturday 25th March 2023- Refresher Skills day with Staff from Lochgoilhead to polish skills and get used to boats.

Sunday 26th March 2023 - Pre-Assessment day by RYA Coach Tutor. This is a pre-requisite before you are allowed to participate in the RYA Dinghy Course.

Monday 10th April- Friday 14th April- RYA Dinghy Instructor Course. 

 

Costs and what's included 

Course cost £170 to pay for accommodation and catering. Accommodation will be available the evening before.

There are some pre-requisites that must be met to book on the course

Hold RYA membership

Be aged 18 years or older (due to accommodation)

Hold a valid first aid certificate.

Hold an RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate.

Hold the RYA Safe and Fun Certificate

Have a sailing ability equivalent to RYA seamanship standard (This includes being able to sail Rudderless, Centreboard less, Man overboards, Coming alongside, picking up a mooring)

Other information

It is compulsory for RYA Instructors to be an RYA member.
