Jamboree on the Air (JOTA)

About the event

Jamboree on the Air is an annual event that brings together members of Scouts and Guides from all over the world, communicating through amateur radio, skype or other online or communications technologies.

This year, the Fordell Scout Active Support Unit will be setting up an amateur radio station (call sign GB0 FFS) at Scout Adventures Fordell Firs our members are being invited to join in. Beaver, Cub, Scouts, Explorers or Network members are welcome to attend but please make sure young people are escorted by the appropriate number of Leaders.

You will have the chance use radio equipment, try Morse code and learn about radio communication.

Activities will run in hourly slots between 10am and 4pm each day, so if your group has a preferred time slot let us know when you book.

There is no cost to participate but if you want to combine JOTA with a camp, usual fees for camping or accommodation will apply.

If you want to come along, please email peter.merckel@yahoo.co.uk to register to attend. More information will be sent to Groups which have attended.
