At Lochgoilhead we encourage schools to talk to us about your specific curriculum and learning outcomes so we can help you achieve them during your time with us. We bring the Curriculum for Excellence to life by encouraging young people to apply their knowledge to real-life tasks. We map our activities to Curriculum for Excellence Experiences and Outcomes and for all participants we build in time to review and reflect upon what’s been learned during our sessions.
Our adventure experiences take place within a stunning natural setting. Forest, hill and water environments are just walking distance from our centre, providing young people with an excellent opportunity to experience the very best of the outdoors.
We've been closed to visitors during the COVID-19 lockdown, but we're excited to begin opening again safely and welcoming you all back! Find out what we're doing to keep you safe and how to get the most out of your visit here.
Residentials made easy
Our school residentials are fully programmed and fully catered. Our experienced team of instructors will take care of all activities and we can even support you with programme planning. All you need to do is turn up with your group and let us take care of everything. We even have a teachers’ lounge if you need a break or an opportunity to catch up on work.
If you wish to be more hands-on, that’s fine too. Our three classroom spaces are well equipped for teaching and pre-activity briefings. We offer more than 25 activities to choose from, including adventurous activities on water, hill and forest environments.
Our residentials include:
three meals a day served in our dining hall
in-depth activity sessions led by experienced instructors
programmes tailored to learning outcomes
John Muir Award requirements if necessary
Stay, study, learn
Help your young people achieve exam success with a study weekend in the great Scottish outdoors.
Our residential revision weekends provide the space and time for young people to focus on study, free from the distractions of technology, family or other life challenges. We also balance study time with outdoors activities for a well-earned boost to motivation and concentration levels back in the classroom.
What to expect
Study weekends include accommodation, three cooked meals a day, high-quality classroom facilities and activities. Every school group is different, so we are happy to work with you to best accommodate your group’s needs. We can help you design the programme for your study weekend, or you can simply turn up to use our facilities if you would just like a space for your own programme.
