Volunteer at Fordell Firs
At Scout Adventures Fordell Firs - based just outside Dunfermline - we run adventurous activities with young people throughout the year, building confidence and skills for life through supportive experiences in the outdoors. We’re now looking for volunteers to get involved and help us run events, maintain the site and lead activities for young people.
It’s a great way to get outdoors, connect with nature, meet new people and learn new skills. Recent research tells us that volunteering is good for us – come and enjoy that feel good factor by giving something back to your local community. Seeing young people develop and learn whilst having lots of fun is what it’s all about. What’s more, volunteering can be a great way for you to build up experience which may help you develop your CV or be a gateway to a new hobby.
What's the opportunity?
We have different opportunities available, depending on what you’d like to do. Our qualified instructors offer tailored training to give you the skills and confidence you need to lead outdoor and adventure activities both here and with your groups. Or, perhaps you’d rather be an extra pair of hands assisting us with activities and events or helping us maintain the site. With acres of woodland, camping fields and residential buildings and activity equipment to care for, there’s lots to be getting on with! We’d love to hear about your skillset and passion so we can match you to a role that you’ll feel really valued in.
There’s flexibility about how much time and what hours you’d like to volunteer – whether it’s a few spare hours in the evenings or free weekends.
This way you can easily fit Scouting in with your weekly routine and it’ll be something to look forward to at a time that’s convenient for your work life, family and other commitments.
