My role is to help grow, develop, and sustain Scouting across the eight Districts of the North East of Scotland Region.
I joined the movement as a Cub, and progressed through Scouts to Venture Scouts. I moved on to a Leadership role of our Venture Scout Unit, transferring to Explorer Leader when Venture Scouts changed age ranges.
I am currently the Group Scout Leader at Methlick. I help and support leaders as a District Training Advisor, both for Leaders, and for Managers and Supporters (TAMS). I also sit on the Appointment Committee of Gordon District, helping volunteers start their Scouting journey. I love International travel, both scouting and personal holidays, and have been to a couple of jamborees as a participant, day visitor and a leader. I have helped organise Explorer Belts in both Sweden and Germany.
I am looking forward to helping more young people get the most out of Scouting and helping them gain Skills for Life through Scouts Scotland’s new strategy. Hopefully encouraging more Adults and Young People to join the adventure and benefit from all that Scouting has to offer.
