As Depute Chief Commissioner I primarily work with a team supporting Regions and Districts with Adult Training, Development, Safety & Safeguarding and Active Support. In addition, I also support the SHQ Commissioners for Youth Involvement implementing the Scouts Scotland Youth Involvement Strategy.
I started in Cubs at the age of 8, and was Scout for a few years before taking a break, returning for my DoE service project at 16. Since then I have held leadership roles in Cubs, Scouts, as AAC (Scouts) and Depute Area Commissioner in Glasgow. Latterly I was Regional Commissioner for Clyde Region before taking up my current appointment. I have been involved with Blair Atholl International Jamborette since 1984.
In my spare time, I am a Principal Clinical Scientist in the West of Scotland Regional Genetic Service based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.
