I have been involved in Scouting for almost 50 years, as a youth member and in various leadership roles including Section Leader, Section Commissioner, District Commissioner and Area Commissioner.
Professionally, I am a Chartered Accountant, running my own general practice accountancy business. In more recent years, I have utilised my business knowledge and expertise to help Scouting, having served three years as a Regional Chairman and for the past 5 years as Honorary Treasurer of Scouts Scotland.
As Treasurer I take the lead role in relation to financial matters for the Board, ensuring that Scouts Scotland finances are in good shape and that all trustees have an understanding of financial matters. I am also a member of the Business Committee and my professional knowledge of accountancy and my lifelong experience of Scouting combine in an effective contribution to all business aspects of Scouts Scotland.
The highlight of my involvement in Scouting has been the International Camp held at Blair Atholl every two years; I have attended 21 camps in various roles, including 7 camps as Camp Chief.
