I was recently elected onto the Board of Scouts Scotland in 2016, and I have also been nominated to sit on the Programme and Regional Support (PRS) committee.
I’m really interested in how we support youth development and volunteers through mentoring and training. I understand Scouting at a local level, including the operational issues and successes. I will be working to ensure Board decisions keep a relevance to grass roots needs.
I joined as a Cub in Stirlingshire and worked my way up to Venture Scouts and gained my Queen’s Scout Award. My career then took me around Scotland where I was able to continue my Scouting, in Clackmannanshire, Fraserburgh, Inverness, Edinburgh and Aberdeenshire.
My background is in civil engineering, change management, and project management. I am an Elder, an active member of Rotary International, and I am also a Group Scout Leader.
