I was elected in 2014 by the Scottish Council to sit as a member of the Scottish Board.
As a Board member and a young person, my role – along with the other Board members - is to ensure the strategic direction and governance of Scouts Scotland is shaped by young people in partnership with adults. In addition to this, I lead our Community Impact strategy by supporting local projects, the development of the ‘A Million Hands’ initiative with our 6 charity partners in Scotland, and represent Scotland on the UK Community Impact Group.
I’ve been a part of Scouting since I was a Beaver Scout, working my way through the 2nd Coatbridge Scout Group, completing my Explorer Belt in 2013 with Clyde Region and being part of the IST Team to the World Scout Jamboree in 2015.
In my day-to-day life I’m a 4th year Sociology student at the University of Glasgow and a Support Worker (Youth Work) for a local authority.
